Miscellaneous Loadings
The options available on this screen allow the user to configure flat loadings (like casual loading) and casual holiday loadings.
- When an employee earns a flat loading that is not included in any overtime or penalty calculation, enable the Earns a Flat Loading of (on normal hours) check box.
- When an employee earns a flat loading that is included in any overtime or penalty calculations, enable the Earns a Flat Loading of (on overtime and penalty hours) check box.
- Earns a Flat Loading (on normal hours): This rule is used to define a flat loading which is added to the base rate for all worked normal hours. (excluded from OT & Penalties)
- Include Weekend Special Rates: Determines whether weekend special rates are included in the loading calculation. If weekend special rates are being used and if this box is enabled, then the weekend special rate will include the loading. If weekend special rates are being used and this box is not enabled, then the weekend special rate will not include the loading.
- Include Public Holiday Special Rates: Determines whether public holiday special rates are included in the loading calculation. If public holiday special rates are being used and if this box is enabled, then the public holiday special rate will include the loading. If public holiday special rates are being used and this box is not enabled, then the public holiday special rate will not include the loading.
- Earns a Flat Loading (on overtime and penalty hours): This rule is used to pay a flat loading which is added to the base rate for all worked overtime and penalty hours. (included in OT & Penalties)
- Apply Loadings To: You can choose either rate or percent. This determines where the loading will be shown on the payslip screen during payroll.
- If you select Rate, then the loading will be reflected in the pay rate.
- If you choose Percent, then the loading will be reflected in the percentage column of the payslip screen.
- Special rate processing order: This determines the order of processing for special rates. The options are: Base Rate x Special Rate x Miscellaneous loading, or Base Rate x Miscellaneous loading x Special Rate. This will change the order of the calculation on base loadings when there are special rates.
- Earns a Casual Leave Loading: This rule is used to pay casual employees a permanent loading with an optional additional leave loading component. The pay slip description field can be used to label this information appropriately.
- Includes Overtime: This rule is used to determine if overtime is included when calculating the casual leave loading.
- Includes Special rates: This rule is used to determine if special rates are included when calculating the casual leave loading.
- Cost by worked department: This rule determines the cost split of the casual leave loading (if applicable). If an employee works in more than one department, then the casual leave loading is apportioned across the departments worked.
- Payslip Description: This is what will appear on the employee's payslip for Casual Leave Loading.If a casual leave loading is being used, this will appear separately on the employee's payslip. In the example screen shown above, employees are paid a permanent loading of 117.5% with a casual leave loading of 8.33% (an additional 1/12th), which will appear on pay slips as a casual holiday loading.
