Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Setup for ClockOn 

ClockOn can be configured to ensure all users with administrative access are using two-factor authentication (2FA). When 2FA is configured in the System Setup all admin users that attempt to login without 2FA configured, will be prompted to configure 2FA and will not be able to access ClockOn features until it has been configured. 

NOTE: Employee administrative access is an employee who has Admin ticks for a department on the departments tab. Typically they are Managers, Payroll officers and Roster Officers 

Before Configuration 

Before Configuring the system please install Google Authenticator on one of the following devices.

System Configuration
  1. Login to ClockOn as a user with administration access

  2. Navigate to Setup and then System Setup

  3. In the System setup window click on the Other tab

  4. Then Click on Enable Google 2FA button

  5. Once selected the user will be prompted to confirm they wish to continue. Click on Yes

  6. To ensure that at least 1 user can login successfully, ClockOn will check and confirm the current login user has 2FA configured for their account. If they do not they will be prompted to configure it now before they can continue.

  7. Copy the Secret Password generated in ClockOn and launch the Google Authenticator application you are using.
    The authenticator can be run as a mobile app on Android and Apple devices, or it can be installed using the Chrome browser as an add in.
  8. Run the Google authenticator and create a new account. (Instructions may differ depending on the Google Authenticator application you are using)
    1. Select manual entry
    2. Enter a name to identify what the code is used for such as ClockOn Payroll
    3. ensure that the time-based option is selected.
    4. Enter the Secret Password supplied from ClockOn and Save.

  9. The Google Authenticator will now show a 'code' that can be entered into ClockOn. This code will change every 30 seconds and is unique to your account.

  10. Enter the code into ClockOn and press the verify button.

  11. The code should be accepted and save the details.

In the event that the code was not accepted, it may be that the time on your system. To check this follow the instructions in the Time sync for Two Factor Authentication Knowledgebase article.
