The following instructions are for installing the ClockOn Client installation, This will not work for the Server installation as it relies on the Windows Services instructure.

As an alternative server setup method we have a low cost database hosting solution available. If you are interested please contact our support team for more information at support@clockon.com.au.

The ClockOn application is based on the x86 infrastructure and does not natively support ARM-based systems, such as the new Windows CoPilot+ systems. If you're unsure as to whether your computer is "ARM-based please see our steps below

  1. Press the Windows key, type "Settings" and press Enter.
  2. Select System > About,
  3. Within the Device Specifications section, check the System type,
  4. Note whether the entry includes the words “ARM-based processor”.

We have had some success with using the compatibility settings to allow the system to run using the following;

  1. Install the ClockOn client as per the Installing the ClockOn Client Application article
  2. Right-click on the ClockOn desktop icon and select Properties

  3. Select the Compatibility Tab, then locate the Windows 10/11 on ARM section, and select Change emulation settings
  4. Ensure that the following settings are enabled
    • Use advanced settings
    • Multi-core settings set to Force single-core operation
(Note that this part is crucial due to how multi-core operation varies on "ARM" processors)
Please also ensure the following settings are selected, as displayed in the screenshot.
      • Disable application cache
      • Disable hybrid execution (x86 apps only)
      • Additional lightweight emulation protections
      • Strict self-modifying code support
  5. Confirm the changes and try to open the ClockOn Client application.
